Located in the core of Dingli, Malta, this semi-detached townhouse sits on a new plot, marking a project of entirely new construction. The process began with a careful study of the site and its context — analysing potential historical layers hidden beneath the bedrock and understanding the character of the surrounding area. Sensitivity to place was central to the design approach, where traditional Maltese architectural elements are reimagined in a contemporary way to create a home that feels both rooted and forward-looking.

The townhouse was designed around the client’s brief to accommodate a family of four. The ground floor acts as the home’s communal heart — a public and open space that encourages conversation and togetherness. The first floor transitions into more private zones, providing each family member with an area for rest and reflection. Above, the upper level serves as another shared domain, where a large roof terrace extends living outward to the landscape, offering sweeping views of Dingli and creating a seamless connection between interior life and the surrounding scenery.
